Sharon, an Army Chemical Corps officer now serving as deputy director of the Joint Requirements Office for CBRN Defense on the Joint Staff of the Department of Defense, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University and Master of Science degrees from Central Michigan University, the Army’s Command and General Staff College, and the National Defense University. The recipient of numerous military awards and campaign ribbons, he has served in various command and staff billets both in the United States and overseas, including duty as brigade chemical officer of the 1st Brigade, 3rd Armored Division, during combat service in Operation Desert Storm. Prior to assuming his current post he was deputy director for counterproliferation policy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy.
